We’re delighted to support the Rotary Club of Hobart which this month celebrates 100 years of service. To mark the milestone, a very special bottling from Hunter Island Distillery. Crafted by Damian Mackey, in collaboration with the Club’s resident whisky enthusiast, David Berechree, this release has been created from our signature mash bill, is triple distilled, and has been matured in European Oak Ruby Port Casks coopered by Dave Schmeider from Transwood Cooperage. Cut to an approachable 46%, this release is limited to 100 x 700ml (numbered) bottles, and 300 x 200ml bottles.

All proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Hobart which continues to be an enduring force of leadership and positivity across the ages.

Tasting Notes

from Tasmanian Whisky’s Mark Nicholson

  • Colour: Burnished antique gold
  • Aroma: Stewed prune, Old Gold chocolate with lifted almond essence and floral hints.
  • Palate: Toasted caramel and creamy vanilla fudge opening then building to a rich crescendo of chocolate orange and oak-driven spiciness through the middle palate. Perfect alcohol balance with soft and silky tannins add complexity and elegance.
  • Finish: Warm, lingering and luscious dark fruits over clean oak provides a long and enticing finish to this superb example of port cask aged Tasmanian whisky.
